AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE TOUR
10-11:30AM, Pine St., Florence This inaugural tour begins
at the Sojourner Truth Memorial statue on Pine St. and
ends at the Florence Community Center with cookies and
hot chocolate. The 1.5 mile walk includes the homes
of Sojourner Truth, other former slaves, and members
of the Northampton Association of Education and Industry.

MLK DAY COMMUNITY GATHERING

Northampton Through video, performance, and discussion,
this interactive program will ask participants to reflect
on the parallels between Dr. King's 1967 message about
the consequences of the Vietnam war and the consequences
of the current war against Iraq. Participants are encouraged
to review King's call for a "Revolution of Values"
as expressed in his 1967 speech "Beyond Vietnam."

and economic democracy, equity in all dimensions (race,
class, gender, etc), and sustainability. What does a

rapid response system to provide financial assistance
to pay for emergency legal support for immigrants in
